Our Facilities

First Congregational Church, or "Road Church” as our church is also known, is an early nineteenth century church. It is very simple and unadorned, in keeping with early American architecture. It has been a welcoming place for centuries to all who seek Christian fellowship and worship of God. A favorite place for weddings, folks from all over the country have used our church for their weddings and have been very pleased with our facilities. We invite you to stop by to worship with us or just to acquaint yourselves with our church.

Our Parish House, which is located next to the church, is where we have our church community events. It, too, is an old structure, built originally as a home for our first pastor, Rev. Noyes. The kitchen is very roomy and has all the necessities for cooking and preparing food. We have two areas for large get-togethers; one, we call the "gym", designed by our own Phyllis Borges. The "gym" with seating for approximately 110 people, is also used as a basketball court for those wishing to play. The second area, our Parlor, is ample in size but still cozy, and has a fireplace. It can accommodate about 40 people. We have sufficient tables and chairs for both rooms. Our Parish House is handicap accessible.

We have a third building, the Library (formerly the One-Room School-house) which is perfect for small meetings.

We have a large amount of parking, more than adequate, with several picnic tables adjacent.

Finally, we have the lovely Memorial Garden, ideal for outdoor needs such as photographic settings, and even picnics.

You can learn more about both these buildings using the menu to the right.

If you wish to book our facilities, or have further questions, please call Martie DeMattia at 860-535-2966. Details listed below may help to answer some of your questions.

We look forward to hearing from you about how our lovely buildings and grounds can help you with your special event.
